Jean Philippe Maury is a french pastry chef with the most extravagant pastry shop in Las Vegas. Located in the Bellagio Hotel on the strip, his store is home to the world’s tallest chocolate fountain.
The chocolate fountain goes floor-to-ceiling and it’s the first of its kind and is certified by the Guinness Book of Records. Milk, white and dark chocolate cascade from several streams to create a decadent masterpiece. It circulates 2 tons of chocolate at a rate of 12o quarts per minute. It’s worth the trip just to see the fountain.
The store carries a large variety of hand made chocolates, truffles and bonbons, as well as sandwiches and salads. They also make a variety of savoury and sweet crepes. It’s a great place to have dessert or a light meal.
The cakes on display are works of art, each meticulously crafted and decorated. What struck me the most was the amount of detail that goes into every piece.
When visiting, make sure to try their hot chocolate. It’s fantastic. Also try their exotic crepe – a freshly made crepe with a passion and mango fruit filling topped with coconut sorbet. You’ll think you’ve died and gone to heaven. The store also carries packaged chocolates and other goodies that you can take home.
Check them out a their two locations at The Bellagio and Aria.
