It was @customersright ‘s birthday, and @gayvancouver held his birthday dinner at Hon’s on Robson. I used to live on Robson St. back in the day, so I’ve been to Hon’s several times before, but not lately.
The atmosphere and menu of Hon’s can only be described as a between Chinese family style and Chinese fast food. The restaurant is huge, and always busy. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Hon’s not full. The restaurant has been a part of Robson St. as long as I can remember, so they must be doing something right!
Hon’s is famous for four things: their portions size, their low prices, their noodles and their potstickers. Their potstickers are really, really good: big size, great dipping sauce, and good choice of fillings (pork, chicken, vegetarian and beef).
Another great thing about Hon’s is their very vast vegetarian menu. One of the dishes that stood out to me was the Vegetarian Chicken. I genuinely couldn’t tell the different between my real chicken dish and the veggie chicken. It was really good.
The presentation of some of the dishes is wonderful. I ordered the chicken and prawns with broccoli in a deep fried potato nest. The dish looked really pretty.
