It’s Time to sample the new #EarlsFallMenu and #CONTEST

Earls Restaurants are not what you’d call traditional “chain” style restaurants. Their menu items are made from scratch, often using local ingredients and organic when available. Each Earls offers dishes that reflects the diverse backgrounds of their Chef Collective and each dish is tried at their Test Kitchen downtown Vancouver.

I had a chance to try Earls’ new fall menu at their newly renovated Loft in Yaletown. The new space is open, airy and welcoming. It also features a new private dining room area for large groups.

Earls design their restaurants with sustainability in mind, winning awards for both energy efficient buildings and their custom LED lighting. They often use reclaimed and repurposed materials to ensure their carbon footprint is kept to a minimum.

The new fall menu has dishes inspired by Asian flavours, as well as the chef’s backgrounds. We started our tasting with the Salmon Salad – made with slow baked salmon in a Szechuan peppercorn and lime glaze, it came with a salad of carrots, zucchini, onions and soba noodles with a dressing that had hints of tamarind and lime. On the side, we had some cilantro yogurt that made everything blend together in perfect harmony.

Another note worthy dish is the Spatchcock chicken – Grilled to perfection the chicken is topped with a lemongrass glaze and served with the most wonderful peanut sauce that has just the perfect hint of spice. The dish is accompanied with an Asian slaw. This was my favourite dish of the night.

Steak reigns supreme in this menu, and tender sirloin cuts from Spring Creek Ranch in Northern Alberta come cooked to order and paired up with crispy asparagus and frites.

The steaks are tender and flavourful.

Dessert doesn’t get ignored. Earls is offering a delicious Hazelnut bar drizzled in  salted caramel sauce and vanilla gelato.

The menu is great, but don’t take my word for it. One lucky reader will have a chance to sample it for themselves! I’m giving away a $100 GC to Earls. This is what you got to do:
