Hello! Here’s this week’s challenge – straight from Carl Savard – Subway Canada’s Commit to Fit Ambassador!
This week, I challenge you to go to bed 30 minutes earlier than usual. Depending on work, family activities and everything else that fills our schedules, it can be easy to cut back on sleep when we need more time in the day. But in terms of your health, this isn’t the best decision. Sleep is important for giving our bodies energy and controlling our appetites – good quality sleep reduces our temptation to snack on unhealthy items and leaves us feeling rested and ready to take on the day.
Each day this week, try to replace time in front of a screen – computer, TV, phone, tablet – with reading a book or quietly relaxing before sleep. On the weekend, try not setting an alarm to give your body some extra resting time. It will be interesting to learn how many hours your body truly needs each night to feel optimal the next morning and try to reach that ideal as often as you can. Yes, this can be challenging with kids, but do your best to treat yourself to some extra sleep this week. Your body and mind will thank you for it.
I’ll be giving away one $25 Subway GC to one lucky winner. Simply do the following to enter:

My daughter had a baby a month ago and we live together, so I plan on getting some sleep this week by taking naps when the baby goes down for his naps!
Thanks!

Since it’s Easter weekend, should be extra time for sleep including a nap after Easter dinner.
Thanks for the chance.

I will be getting more sleep by making lunches right after supper so I can get up a bit later in the mornings.
