Carl’s Crew is back! For the next four weeks I’ll be posting healthy challenges straight from Carl Savard, Subway Canada‘s Commit to Fit ambassador.
Last week was all about to crossing something off our to-do lists! How did everyone do? I’ve started to go thru my closet and clean up some of my old clothing. All these will be donated to charity once I’m done.
I’m also starting to jog again! I’ve started using an app called Runtrainer – this helps me track my runs and sets me up with easy to follow workouts. If you’re trying to get back to running, or never ran before, this is the app for you.
This week, it’s time to get back to the gym, focusing on core strength. Back injuries are so common and we tend to ignore our core when we work out. Our abs help to support our entire body so it’s important we took care of them.
So to help get started, this week challenge is to hold a one-minute plank (or more if you’re up to it!). Don’t know what a plank is? Here’s a video of Carl showing off his planking style.
No matter what your regular workout routine looks like, or if this is going to be your first workout of the week, your core is a great place to start. Good luck!
