WildTale Coastal Grill is best known for their sustainable seafood and farm to table menu. Little did I know that also makes a mean brunch.
Of course we wouldn’t expect anything less from a restaurant that’s made its home in trendy Yaletown, and boasts kitchen talent such as John Crook and Erik Heck. Both Chefs have impressive resumes that include iconic Vancouver restaurants such as Joe Fortes and The Flying Pig to name a few.
True to its name, the brunch menu at WildTale has a strong West Coast influence; whoever I found there were also hints of southern hospitality there as well.
Dishes such as their Chicken and Waffles – fried chicken served with waffles with butter and pure maple syrup and The Oyster Po’boy made with Imperial Eagle Oysters Will have you thinking you left Vancouver and went to NOLA.
Other brunch-time favourites include the Smoke Salmon Benedict made with smoke salmon, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce served in a pan fried potatoes roost, and for more puritans fans of the dish their Signature Crab Cake Benny will definitely hit the spot.
And what’s brunch without a good Boozy drink to go with it? Their cocktail menu is extensive, and includes a well spiced Caesar.
If brunch is not your thing, WildTail is having Lobster Suppers every Sunday starting at 4 PM. The menu includes:
Classic Seafood Chowder – with freshly baked rolls
Steamed PEI Mussels – served with butter for dipping
Farmers Salads – Green salad (with house dressing), Coleslaw and Potato Salad
Fresh Steamed Lobster (pre-order 1 lb. or 1.5 lb. lobster when making a reservation)
Choice of Chefs’s Dessert – Freshly Baked Pie, Mixed Berry Shortcake, Chocolate Mousse or Ice Cream
$50 for a 1 lb. Lobster
$60 for a 1.5 lb. Lobster
