Cafe Medina has a reputation of being the best brunch in Vancouver. Expect long line ups, but the wait is worth it. This is truly an unique dining experience.

I had brunch with Sean this past Saturday. You can read what he thought of Cafe Medina here.

No matter how many times I go, the food always meets my expectations.

My usual favourite is the Fricasse ($16) it’s a lovely casserole dish with short ribs, roasted potatoes, onions, smoked applewood cheddar, arugula and fried eggs. It’s so yummy. This time I decided to go for something different. I ordered the Cassoulet ($15). It has double smoked bacon, baked beans, sausage and fried eggs. The sausage was the best I’ve ever tasted! It was so good, also the bacon was delicious. It wasn’t crispy, but the taste was pretty extraordinary.

I love the presentation of the dishes – they come on this cast iron casserole hot from the stove. They also come with warm focaccia bread.

Another thing that Cafe Medina is famous for is their waffles. They’re a must try. They’re a bit small, but simply delicious. Each waffle cost $3.15 and for an extra $1 you can order special toppings for them. This time around I had my waffles with the fig orange marmalade topping. H-E-A-V-E-N.

They also make really good lattes here! Try the lavender latte when you’re here, it’s really good and it has the right amount of sweetness. For something sweeter try the raspberry latte.
