The Hurricane Grill has a gorgeous location in Yaletown, right by the water. With views of the marina and the Burrard bridge, is a gorgeous spot to have a meal. Since 2003, Hurricane Grill’s international menu and relaxed, casual atmosphere has made it a favourite of the area.

Sean and I were there to experience VANEATS.ca new dining package “Hurricane Fiesta”. Starting December 15th, these dining packages will be available for sale at the VANEATS.ca website for $25. Click here for Sean’s take on the experience.

So what do you get with your Hurricane Fiesta?

Some of the Hurricane Grill’s famous bruschetta

Your choice of two of these salads:

The Grill Salad –Six oz N.Y. steak on grilled vegetables, spring mix and tossed together with a balsamic reduction

Warm Seafood Spinach – Scallops, prawns, baby shrimp, baby spinach, mandarin oranges and mushrooms, layered with goat cheese and roasted almonds

Ako Salad – Grilled chicken breast, English cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, peppers, feta cheese and rice along with a balsamic vinaigrette

Fiesta Salad – Romaine lettuce, corn, black beans, avocado, blackened chicken, salsa, nacho cheese, sour cream and a cilantro mint dressing

Sean and I decided to try the Warm Seafood Salad ($15.99) and the Grill Salad ($16.99). Paired with the Bruschetta ($10.99), that’s $43.97! The VANEATS package is $25!

Let’s start with the bruschetta: tomatoes, parmesan cheese, goat cheese and basil with a balsamic reduction. At first sight, the portion is huge! Lots of toppings. Here we are, two hungry people and we barely made a dent – The portion is three large bruschettas and they’re so filling. The bread was nicely toasted, giving this dish a nice crunch. Great appy.

The Grill Salad was a steak dinner really. A 6 oz. NY steak on a bed of spring mix, topped with grilled asparagus and red and yellow peppers, tossed together with a balsamic reduction. The steak is cooked to order, so I had mine medium rare (is there any other way really?) it was perfectly done! juicy and pink on the inside, seared on the outside. The grilled vegetables were a nice touch, and I loved, loved, loved the asparagus. Sean and I really enjoyed this salad.

The Warm Seafood Spinach Salad consists of tiger prawns, baby shrimps, scallops, mandarin oranges, goat cheese, mushrooms, almond slices and spinach. It comes with a honey mustard dressing on the side. What an array of flavours. The salad came piled high with delicious seafood. The scallops were fantastic, Sean and I really liked them. I wouldn’t think to pair up a classic spinach salad with goat cheese and honey mustard dressing with grilled seafood, but it works, and it’s delicious.

We left Hurricane Grill with happy tummies. The VANEATS.ca package goes on sale December 15th. They’ve sold out of every single package so far, so make sure you get yours early.
