This is Vancouver, and Vancouver loves its sushi. Heck I love sushi.

VANEATS.ca  together with legendary sushi restaurant Kamei Royale, has created a new dining package for Japanese food lovers. If you’ve never tried this restaurant, you’re in for a treat. Kamei Royale has the distinction of being one of the first restaurants in Vancouver to introduce fusion rolls  as well as bringing traditionally trained Japanese chefs  into their kitchens. This restaurant combines wonderful surroundings, attentive service and delicious food. I really enjoyed this package. The KAMEI KISS  is one tasty culinary experience. It consists of:

Healthy Agedashi Tofu –  The tofu was perfectly crispy on the outside, while the inside remained tender and juicy. Topped with nameko mushrooms, edamame beans and lotus root, there were many layers of flavour to this dish. The mushrooms gave it a nice, earthy flavour that went well with the sauce.

Crab Salad  – this beautifully presented salad comes in a martini glass. It has real crab mixed with mayonnaise, avocado and mango. It’s garnished with tobiko and lotus root. If you’re gonna have salad, this is the way to go.

Moving on, we have the Oda Roll. Named after Japan’s top figure skater Nobunary Oda, this is not a roll, this is an experience!. The flavours are bold, and unique. Filled with mango, avocado, cucumber and salmon and topped with fresh water eel wrapped in tempura and cream cheese. The dish is then finished right at your table with a server searing it with a blowtorch. Pretty cool.

For dessert, we have Ice Cream Tempura. Ever had deep fried ice cream? This is exactly like that. Ice cream covered with tempura, then deep fried, drizzled with chocolate sauce and topped with sugar and a cherry.
