This holiday season, Metropolis at Metrotown is lighting up with the return of Holidays at the Met, an expanded and enchanting celebration that promises joy for the entire family. With new experiences like the magical Holiday Lounge and the exclusive Date Night with Santa, along with returning favorites such as photos with Santa, the festivities are bigger and better for 2024.
Santa Claus is Coming to the Met
The holiday season wouldn’t be complete without a chance to meet Santa Claus! Starting November 12, Metropolis at Metrotown will host a series of Santas, each bringing a unique take on holiday cheer:
- Father Christmas: The classic Santa straight from children’s storybooks.
Dates: November 12 – December 23 - Global Santa: Celebrating diverse holiday traditions from around the world.
Dates: November 19 & 26 - Tropical Santa: Making a post-holiday appearance with a touch of sunshine.
Dates: December 27-30
Rockin’ Around the Holiday Lounge
Take a break from holiday shopping and step into the new Holiday Lounge, a 3,500-square-foot festive retreat near the Grand Court. This free-to-enter space is decked out with twinkling lights, hanging evergreens, and a snow globe photo opportunity. Enjoy classic holiday movies playing throughout the day, live music on select dates, and a kids’ area with arts and crafts to keep little ones entertained.
Starting November 25, guests spending $300 or more in one day can access the VIP Lounge, offering wine, a hot chocolate bar, snacks, and a cookie-decorating station. VIP guests can also take advantage of complimentary coat and parcel check-in. The first 500 VIPs will receive a stylish red Holiday tote, granting unlimited access to the lounge throughout the season.

All I Want for Christmas is You (and Santa!)
For a grown-up holiday twist, the Met introduces Date Night with Santa, perfect for couples or friends aged 19 and older. On two special nights, the Holiday Lounge transforms into a sultry retreat featuring live music, a complimentary drink (choose from wine, bubbles, or a Kir Royale), light canapés, and sweets. Each duo will get to pose for a festive photo with Santa, with digital downloads included.
Tickets are $50 for two guests (plus tax).

Christmas for a Cause
The spirit of giving shines bright at Metropolis at Metrotown with opportunities to give back:
- Charity Gift Wrap Station: Have your gifts beautifully wrapped while supporting the Burnaby Neighbourhood House.
Dates: December 2-24 - Toy Drive: Donate a toy for the Burnaby Christmas Bureau and receive a $10 gift card (first 100 donors). Every donor is also entered to win a $100 gift card.
Date: December 7 - Santa Photos for Charity: Partial proceeds from Santa photos will benefit the Burnaby Christmas Bureau.
Jingle Bell Rock Around the Met
New this year, Holiday Music at the Met will bring festive sounds to the shopping centre. Artists such as Latin guitarist John Gilliat, jazz trumpeter Bonnie Northgraves, and accordionist Taras Luka will roam the halls, spreading holiday cheer.

Holidays at the Met runs from November 12 – December 30. Metropolis at Metrotown offers free parking and convenient Skytrain access. Regular shopping hours are Monday to Saturday, 10am-9pm, and Sunday, 11am-7pm.

- January 1: 11am-7pm
The shopping center will be closed on Christmas Day.
