Provence Marinaside is bringing the legendary wines of Clos Cibonne Cru Classé to its latest Cellar Series Dinner on Tuesday, April 15. This intimate event is a rare opportunity to experience the historic Tibouren grape, expertly paired with a Provençal-inspired menu.
Why You Can’t Miss This Dinner
- A Historic Winery: Clos Cibonne, located along France’s Mediterranean coast, dates back 400 years to Jean-Baptiste de Cibon, captain of Louis XVI’s Royal Navy.
- Rare Tibouren Wines: This ancient grape, with origins tracing back to classical Greece and possibly Mesopotamia, is the star of the night.
- Expert Pairings: Wine Director Joshua Carlson has crafted perfect pairings with dishes from Chef Jean-Francis Quaglia (a native of Marseille) and Chef Richard Hondier.
- Special Guest: Join Stefania Piacentin FWS, French Wine Scholar and Liberty Wines account manager, for insider knowledge on these exceptional wines.
- An Ultra-Exclusive Experience: Only 13 seats are available for this intimate evening in Provence Marinaside’s private Wine Bar room.

A Passion for Clos Cibonne
Joshua Carlson has been a devoted fan of Clos Cibonne since his visit to ViniSud in 2016:
“I had never conceived of what aged rosé should taste like, but I was blown away. If I had tried it blind, I may have guessed it was White Burgundy or aged Greco di Tufo. It was an ‘ah-ha!’ moment for me.”
Clos Cibonne is a champion of the Tibouren grape, which has often been overshadowed by more common Provençal varieties. Known for its wild herb, pepper, light fruit, and mandarin orange notes, it has an ancient history—including being a favorite of Julius Caesar!
