Where music meets community at Iy̓á́l̓mexw / ʔəy̓alməxʷ Jericho Beach Park
There’s something about the Vancouver Folk Music Festival that just feels like summer. Maybe it’s the barefoot dancing in the grass, the salty ocean breeze, or the eclectic mix of global sounds spilling from every corner of Iy̓á́l̓mexw / ʔəy̓alməxʷ Jericho Beach Park. Whatever it is, the vibe is unmatched, and this year’s festival, running July 18 to 20, promises to be another magical weekend of music, culture, and connection.
Now in its 48th year, the Vancouver Folk Music Festival is more than just a lineup of great tunes. It’s a three-day celebration of community — where storytelling, food trucks, artisan markets, and natural beauty come together in one of the most scenic spots in the city. Whether you’re a die-hard folk fan or simply looking for a joyful way to spend a summer weekend, VFMF is where it all comes together.

More Than Music
The Vancouver Folk Music Festival is a celebration of culture and connection. With over 40 international, national, and local acts, the event transforms Jericho Beach Park into a gathering place for music lovers of all ages. Pop-up jams, storytelling circles, kid-friendly activities, and a vibrant artisan market add to the weekend’s festivities.
Held on the unceded territory of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, the festival is a chance to enjoy music and community while acknowledging the Indigenous land we share.
If summer had a soundtrack, this would be it. Pack a picnic blanket, bring your friends, and be part of one of Vancouver’s most cherished traditions.
