Starting July 14, 2025, Metro Vancouver commuters can add a delicious stop to their routine — the region’s first-ever food truck pilot launches at Metrotown Station with none other than Chickpea, Vancouver’s beloved Mediterranean-inspired, plant-based eatery.

The Chickpea food truck is parked at the east entrance of Metrotown Station (near 62 Central Blvd). They will serve their signature bold flavours Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. — with occasional weekend appearances. Hours and live location can be tracked on the Street Food App.

What’s on the menu?

Expect Chickpea’s greatest hits: Crispy chickpea fries, hearty falafel, and creamy hummus are among the highlights. You can also enjoy creative takes on comfort food like Mediterranean-style burgers and hot dogs. All 100% plant-based and 100% satisfying.

Chickpea started as a humble food truck. Then it expanded to a brick-and-mortar spot on Main Street. It now has a regular presence at local markets and festivals. Their approach to food blends Mediterranean spices, sustainability, and feel-good vibes, making them a standout in Vancouver’s plant-based scene.

Bonus for busy commuters: the truck offers mobile ordering. This means grabbing a quick, wholesome bite between transit connections just got easier.

Why Metrotown?

This pilot program is part of a broader initiative. The goal is to energize public spaces around major transit hubs and make them more vibrant. The initiative also aims to make these spaces people-friendly while supporting local businesses. By bringing in a local favourite like Chickpea, we aim to enhance the transit experience. The goal is to turn stops into destinations.

If all goes well, Metro Vancouverites can expect to see more food trucks at more locations in the future.
