I’m Miriam Sheridan, the voice behind MaryinVancity.com, where I share my love for food, travel, and lifestyle in Vancouver and beyond. With over 7,000 blog subscribers and a growing social media community, I’ve built a space for people who love discovering hidden gems, great eats, and unforgettable experiences.

This blog was born after my father passed away. He was a foodie in his own right, and some of my best memories with him were around a great meal and a good bottle of wine. Writing about food and travel is my way of keeping his memory alive—with each restaurant visit, I ask myself, “Would Joe like this?”

I came to Canada as a refugee, and being both Canadian and Salvadoran has shaped how I see the world. I know firsthand the power of resilience, community, and storytelling, and I bring that perspective into everything I write. Whether I’m sipping whiskey at a tasting, exploring LGBTQ-friendly travel destinations, or diving into Vancouver’s food scene, I share my experiences in a way that’s conversational, relatable, and real—no fluff, no clichés.

Before blogging, I worked in marketing and digital strategy, managing multi-million-dollar projects and even winning awards like Best Social Media Campaign at the ICSC Awards. Now, I use that experience to create engaging, honest content that helps people find the best places to eat, drink, and explore.

Join me as I uncover the best spots, the best bites, and the best stories—one adventure at a time!
