I took this week off work for some well-deserved R&R. Since we’re both staying in town, Sarina and I decided to have lunch at C Restaurant.
Located at 1600 Howe St, the restaurant overlooks False Creek and has amazing views of the Burrard Bridge. It was awesome to sit on the patio (don’t you just love Vancouver? middle of October and we’re sitting on a patio?) and take it all in. C Restaurant is the founding restaurant in Vancouver Aquarium’s Ocean Wise Program. Executive Chef, Robert Clark’s vision is of a restaurant that not only offers delicious food, but its also sustainable.
Our server Jason was just fantastic from the start. He made sure that we were comfortable sitting on the patio and that we were warm enough. Next he brought to the table the most delicious bread ever, all very timely.
We ordered the Salt Spring Island goat cheese omelette, which came with wild mushrooms, potatoes and toasted brioche, and the eggplant lasagna dish, which was cheesy beyond belief and had a fantastic tangy sauce. Overall a very satisfying brunch. we also ordered the rose spanish wine, so good.
The bill for two people with coffee and a glass of wine each, came to approximately $60. Not bad fo brunch downtown.
I recommend coming here. Not only the service was impeccable, the food delicious and the atmosphere pleasant, but its nice to know that you can still pamper yourself and be good to the planet. Koodos to the staff at C for a great experience.
