There are a lot of great restaurants on Main st.  One of them is The Main.

This Main St. landmark  has been in business since 1997,  but the building itself has seen many businesses come and go.

Even before you enter the restaurant the signage outside sets the tone for your visit: it says: “eating and drinking happens here”. Walking into this place is like walking back in time. The decor is very old-fashioned. All grill work in the windows is salvaged from local antique stores. The antique brass rail and the bar top are from an old movie set. The woodwork has been mostly done by hand. It’s a pretty neat place to have brunch.

Speaking of brunch, we ordered the chicken souvlaki wrap and the brunch special (two eggs, potatoes, toast and sausage) each dish was $6.99! What a deal! and folks that wrap was yuuummy! Tender chicken, tangy  tzatziki sauce… the taste buds  were dancing I tell you!

Our waitress was very friendly and we didn’t lack any service. Food was brought out in a timely fashion and coffee and water were refilled without having to ask. I really like it when the server can anticipate the customer’s needs like that.

Aside from being a great place to have a bite to eat, they also have live music 4 days a week, and they can cater to larger groups – they have a back room with its own bar and large tv to watch the Canucks play.
