Stack the Rack Media Preview
A few weeks ago, I wrote a post about a fantastic event coming up for a great cause.
On September 14th, I had a chance to attend the media preview for Stack the Rack, a benefit for QMUNITY. The event will take place at Ensemble – the restaurant owned by Top Chef Canada winner Dale MacKay.
Stack the Rack will take place on October 3rd. This is an innovating wine tasting event; Wines will be provided by Marquis Wine Cellars and food by Chef Dale MacKay. Wines will be available for sale, so if you find something tasty and amazing, this is your chance to stock up. Like I mentioned before, the event will benefit QMUNITY. QMUNITY offers vital resources to the lesbian, bi, gay, and transgender community in Vancouver.
Aside from some amazing food and wine, every ticket for Stack the Rack will come with a $75 tax receipt and a $50 gift certificate for Marquis Wine Cellars. You can purchase your tickets online.
I had the pleasure of meeting Marc Smith of Amuse Consulting. He is an inspiring individual, and Stack the Rack is his brainchild. He is proof that one person can make a difference. He took the initiative to contact Chef MacKay as well as Marquis Wines. Together they are making this event happen.
The food at the preview was out of this world… my favourite dish was the Beef Carpaccio (tenderloin carpaccio, peas, crisp shallots, rosemary bannock) It was AMAZING. Beef so juicy and tender, perfectly marinated. I tell you, if you’re coming to Stack the Rack, you’re in for a real treat.
Another dish we had a chance to taste, was Chef MacKay’s famous Pulled Pork Sliders. The food at Ensemble is so good, and Chef Mackay is not just a talented Chef, he is a really, really nice guy. Hearing him speak about QMUNITY and why he got involved was really inspiring.
Stack the Rack is an event not to be missed :)
