I was invited last week to an event to launch iögo – a brand new yogurt hitting the supermarket aisles this week.
The cool thing about this new kid on the block is that the products are made in Canada, are gelatine free and have no artificial flavours. There are seven varieties of yogurt and over 40 flavours, anything from greek-style to probiotic, drinkable and zero fat, iögo has it all.
But of course, the million dollar question is, does it taste good?
The answer is a big YES.
At the launch party we were allowed to taste all seven product lines. My favourite is the duo desserts. These yogurts come in creme caramel, strawberry shortcake, lemon pie and mocaccino flavours. They are creamy, sweet and decadent, and only 35 calories per cup. (yeah, that’s right, not a typo, 35 calories).
There were many yogurt-inspired recipes as well, such as chick pea spread, chicken satay with lime and yogurt sauce and a asparagus and sesame dip (which was my favourite).
There were also yogurt inspired drinks – using the iögo NANO line, the bartender mixed vodka, strawberry iögo, muddle strawberries and cinnamon simple syrup to make really yummy martinis. A lot of the recipes can be found online on their website.
Now until August 31st, like iögo on Facebook, and get a $1 off coupon for any iögo product. They’re worth a try, and if you don’t like them, they have a satisfaction guaranteed or its free policy.
