The world’s most expensive food!
Last night this thing happened - game night with my sisters @daisyjeys and @bailamefitness - we couldn’t be more different and sometimes we get on each other’s nerves, but that’s for another post. - - 🤪 Our journey from sharing the same DNA to actually being family hasn’t been easy (trust me, there IS a difference) but, we worked hard, learned to appreciate and may I even dare say, respect each other? It hasn’t been easy to say the least, but as our dear Papa used to say: “nothing easy is worth having” If he could see us now, he’d be so proud of how much we’ve all grown. - - 😘 ladies, I’m glad we’ve made the effort, I’m glad we’re all over each other’s businesses, I love how you’re DJ’s doting “tias” and I’m proud to call you my sisters. I raise a glass of @teamfbwine to you.
Spent a lovely couple of hours at @elsantonewwest this week exploring their new summer menu. Now this is real Mexican gastronomy and light years away from your neighbourhood taqueria. You’ll find exotic new flavours such as huitlacoches, fermented ginger mole and coffee roasted carrots. - 😘 don’t even get me started on the cocktails - they’ve even elevated the humble tequila shot by adding a chaser mixed with cilantro, jalapeños, lemon and pineapple juices - and with that, completely ruining tequila for me forever. Seriously - you can’t go back. - 🇲🇽 If you’re ready to dig deeper into Mexican cuisine, this is the place for you.
Since we’re on a trend of #keepingitreal my instafam, let’s talk about those perfect influencer shots we keep trying to achieve and at what cost. I know, I know, nobody’s is making us do it, but come down the rabbit hole with me for a sec: - 🇲🇽 This is me during our #Mexico vacation. I was really trying to achieve that one perfect beach shot, you know the one I’m talking about? The one with the clear blue water, the sun and clouds behind you, looking perfectly relaxed on your own little piece of paradise? Yeah, it wasn’t working. - - 😓 My poor husband was tasked to take that picture; and after, oh, I don’t know 15 shots that I didn’t deemed instaworthy, my five year old started to get antsy. Cries of “mommy what are you doing?” And the dreaded “mommy what is this and can I eat it?” Started to fill the air. - - 🤪 I finally snapped at my kid with a “GIVE ME A SECOND, MOMMY’S WORKING” - the look of dismay on his little face was all I needed to snap out of my daydream of the perfect Instagram picture. I gave up. I hugged my kid and started to play with him, and as we got more comfortable, he decided to use me as a human couch, (what can I say, my butt is THAT cushy. 😁) that’s when mdh snapped this pic. And I love this picture. I love DJ’s silly grin, I love that he’s sitting on my ass like it’s a throne, and I love that we’re together. - - ❤️ Long story short, what I’m trying to say is that sometimes we’re so focused on our online lives to focus on the little things that truly make our lives real and fulfilling. Enjoy the chaos, embrace your imperfections, and when trying to do the glamorous travel blogger shots, let your five year old keep it real. - - Do you guys want me to share more personal stories? Let me know, I’m not one to get all mushy and stuff, but if this is resonating with some of you, leave me a comment below 👇🏼
