This restaurant is located inside Metropolis at Metrotown, Sekai Udon Bar is a refreshing change from regular mall fare. The sushi is fresh, the prices are affordable and the noodles are made in-house.
I was pleasantly surprised by the freshness of the rolls and the quality of the food. The noodles are delicious and fresh. The sauces compliment the dishes really well.
If ordering some udon, make sure you order some of the add-ons, like the Kaki-age. These crispy vegetables strips are coated with tempura, fried, and served with tempura sauce.
The noodles are a thing of beauty. The Niku Udon ($8) are served as soup or sauce noodles, with sukiyaki braised beef, onions, enoki mushrooms, chopped green onions and baby bok chou.
If looking for good rolls, I recommend the Roll Combo ($10). This is a lot of food. California roll, sake roll and dynamite roll.
The menu also offers a lot of other Japanese items, such as edamame and gyoza.
And of course, sushi and sashimi.
Check them out next time your at the mall.
