Sekai Udon Bar

This restaurant is located inside Metropolis at Metrotown, Sekai Udon Bar is a refreshing change from regular mall fare. The sushi is fresh, the prices are affordable and the noodles are made in-house.

I was pleasantly surprised by the freshness of the rolls and the quality of the food. The noodles are delicious and fresh. The sauces compliment the dishes really well.

IMG_5565If ordering some udon, make sure you order some of the add-ons, like the Kaki-age.  These crispy vegetables strips are coated with tempura, fried, and served with tempura sauce.

IMG_5327The noodles are a thing of beauty. The Niku Udon ($8) are served as soup or sauce noodles, with sukiyaki braised beef, onions, enoki mushrooms, chopped green onions and baby bok chou.

If looking for good rolls, I recommend the Roll Combo ($10). This is a lot of food. California roll, sake roll and dynamite roll.

The menu also offers a lot of other Japanese items, such as edamame and gyoza.

And of course, sushi and sashimi.

Check them out next time your at the mall.
