A few months ago, I met writer Roger Blenman. He’s a very interesting and intelligent man. When he told me about his first novel, Dead’er, I was curious right away.
Dead’er takes place in 1880’s and present day Vancouver. The protagonist, Sean, comes to believe that his downtown apartment is haunted by a malevolent spirit. A mystery that shows how courage and trust can help one face the most frightening of circumstances, this is a story that shows us hope can survive, even in death.
A Barbadian-born, Afro-Caribbean Canadian, Roger’s writing is infused with rhythms from Caribbean, Afro-American and mainstream Canadian cultures.
Roger will be reading from his new novel, Dead’er; Saturday December 6th at Dalbergia Studio 1333 Railspur Alley on Granville Island.
Readings will take place at 2, 4, & 7 pm; with book signings to follow.

I’ve met a few more book-lovers in the past few days who are interested in my story–thanks for the kind words Mary.
