It’s been the Summer of Light at Metropolis at Metrotown.
BC’s largest shopping centre unveiled LIGHTROOM on June 26th to much fanfare. Since then, thousands of people have visited and shared their experience on social media.
The LIGHTROOM consists of a 60 second walk-through experience tied to social media. It measures 20 feet by 35 feet and will immerse you in an illusion of thousands of twinkling lights. The concept was inspired by artist Yayoi Kusama’s mirrored infinity room and the Social Soul experience at the 2014 TED Conference.
You gotta admit, it sure takes pretty pictures. Just think of it as the ultimate selfie.
There are other photo opportunities in addition to the LIGHTROOM, such as a 70 foot interactive light curtain over the Grand Court elevator and mirrors and Instagram filter frames.
