Palm Beach Skate Zone – Lake Worth, FL

Dubois House – Jupiter, FL
The grand re-opening of DuBois Pioneer Home to the public is expected in early March. The home, built in 1898 on an ancient shell midden, is classified under the National Register of Historical Places. The home will be open for complimentary docent-led tours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The historic home is located in Jupiter’s DuBois Park.

Gumbo Limbo Nature Center – Boca Raton, FL
Offering 20 acres of protected barrier island, this center prides itself in sea turtle conservation. The center serves as a beacon for the protection of the natural environment and wildlife resources. Visitors can enjoy a nature center, butterfly garden, boardwalk trail and outdoor marine aquariums, as well as special programs.

John D. MacArthur Beach State Park – North Palm Beach, FL
The Park has 438 acres of natural environments situated between the Atlantic Ocean and the Lake Worth Lagoon. The land includes seven species of plants, and twenty-two species of animals designated as endangered or threatened. The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation contributed funds to help develop the park and nature center during its early years. Offering a unique mix of coastal and tropical hammock and mangrove forests, this barrier island provides a haven for several rare or endangered plant species. In the Nature Center, families can find out more about the marine life and estuary eco-system, all while learning in a fun and engaging manner.

Jupiter Lanes – Jupiter, FL
This bowling center offers 60 state-of-the-art bowling lanes, a video arcade, full service food court, sports bar, billiards and outdoor Tiki Bar, and is located in the heart of the Town of Jupiter, with easy access from Florida’s Turnpike and Interstate 95. Manatee Lagoon – Riviera Beach, FL
Meet the iconic Florida manatee in this new, free educational attraction, which has a dedicated area for viewing the sea cows up close . The 16,000-square-foot center features engaging, hands-on exhibits for visitors to learn all about these endangered and unique creatures, as well as the natural wonders of the surrounding Lake Worth Lagoon. On cold winter days, the facility’s observation deck will be the ideal spot to view manatee herds basking in the warm-water outflows from Florida Power & Light Company’s adjacent Riviera Beach Next Generation Clean Energy Center.

Palm Beach Zoo – West Palm Beach, FL
Bring the family to get close to more than 500 animals from around the world, as you explore the 23 acres of lush, tropical habitat. Among some of the zoos most popular animals are endangered Malayan tigers, Mexican spider monkeys and powerful jaguars. Children can also enjoy Animal Shows, Interactive Play Fountain, Wildlife Carousel and Safari Train.

Rapids Waterpark – West Palm Beach, FL
Rapids Water Park is South Florida’s premiere family water park, featuring a full day of fun for the entire family. Make a splash in the cool blue waves, take a thrilling plunge down the waterslides or just relax and float around the lazy river. With more than 35 action-packed acres of attractions, the park includes a FlowRider body building experience, a 25,000- square foot wave pool, 1/4-mile lazy river and the most thrilling water slides in South Florida. Two more thrill rides will be added this year, one of which is the new Brain Drain, where adventure seekers enter a launch tube and wait for the bottom to drop out beneath them for a 300-foot-long tube slide. Lockers and cabana rentals are available at cost. Rapids re-opens for the 2016 season on March 12.

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) – Jupiter, FL
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) programing is picking up some steam and expanding to Jupiter, according to leadership at the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium, the local authority on informal science education. STEM Studio, an extension of the 55-year-old nonprofit venue in West Palm Beach, will open to the public in mid-February at 1209 Main St. Unit #112 in Downtown Abacoa. In partnership with Bricks 4 Kidz, the 2,000-square-foot space will serve as a social hub for educational enrichment. On Saturday, March 12, a free open house will celebrate the new space and satellite programming. STEM Studio is a collaborative community space managed by the Science Center and Bricks 4 Kidz. Both organizations, along with select community partners, will offer regular programming geared toward kids and families. The Science Center will host planetarium shows, camps, open play days, scheduled classes, “Parents Night Out” and much more.

Schoolhouse Children’s Museum & Learning Center – Boynton Beach, FL
Through interactive play, this Museum and learning center offers children a fun and stimulating way to learn art, music, the sciences and more. Children are able to have fun in a tech-free environment through free weekly programs, affordable education classes and specialty workshops.

Sol Children Theatre – Boca Raton, FL
This not-for-profit theatre organization is dedicated to providing children with a safe, secure and professional theatre experience. From musical performances to creative fairy tale classes and camps, the center helps children express themselves through emotion, movements and vocals as they grow an appreciation for the arts. The organization strives to keep ticket prices low to encourage audiences from all walks of life to experience live theatre.

Society of The Four Arts Children’s Library – Palm Beach, FL
Throughout the year, the Society of The Four Arts offer exhibitions of special interest to children in the Mary Alice Fortin Children’s Art Gallery at no charge for admission. Book borrowing and computer use is also made available, as is story time programs during season. While children explore the library, parents and grandparents can enjoy the allure of the botanical gardens, which are also free to the public and open seven days a week.

South Florida Science Center and Aquarium – West Palm Beach, FL
The facility features more than 50 hands-on educational exhibits, an upgraded, state-of-the-art planetarium, a new 1,000 square foot early childhood education room featuring a 16 foot long water play area, photo booth, seating area and a light bright art wall. Additional offerings include a new science laboratory for educational programs and an upgraded theatre. Children of all ages will enjoy the 3,000 square foot “Aquariums of the Atlantic” gallery, as well as a 3,000 square foot Everglades and conservation-themed permanent exhibit hall, and an outdoor Science Trail, complete with mini-golf, butterfly gardens and outdoor exhibits.

Sandoway House & Nature Center – Delray Beach, FL
The center offers visitors a glimpse into South Florida’s fragile marine and freshwater environments through educational exhibits and programs. With up-close encounters of some of Florida’s native and invasive reptile species, a coral reef pool with sharks, and Southeast Florida’s largest, private shell collection, this center truly offers a unique experience. The Sandoway House Nature Center is located in a historic 1936 beachfront home in Delray Beach, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Clematis By Night – A free concert series that takes place on the West Palm Beach Waterfront every Thursday night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

SunFest – April 27 – May 1, 2016
SunFest is Florida’s largest music, art, and waterfront festival, which is held along the scenic Flagler waterfront in West Palm Beach. Brazilian Beat – September 2016
Samba and feast in celebration of Brazilian Independence Day. Enjoy live music, street entertainment including a Zumba showcase, Capoeira dancers, carnival dancers, drummers and authentic Brazilian food. This free event takes place in Downtown Boca Raton.

Tropical Fruit Festival – June 2016
Partake in tropical fruit samplings, demonstrations, lectures and more with the Palm Beach Chapter of the Rare Fruit Council, as you meander through the botanical gardens. This event is held at Mounts Botanical Garden. Highlights include live music, fruit tree sales, vendors and food trucks.
