Welcome to the Vancouver Burger Game, CaliBurger

Downtown Vancouver is about to get a whole lot tastier! Caliburger, the popular California burger joint, is now open on Robson St.

Known for their fresh-never-frozen California Style burgers and fries, the location also serves boozy milkshakes and is fully licensed. Reyaz A. Kassamali, CaliBurger’s Vancouver franchisee, is the local man set to bring a “better burger” to Vancouver.

And the burgers are tasty: Their most popular menu item, the Cali Double Burger is a double patty delight nestled between soft burger buns and topped with their secret sauce, lettuce, tomato and American cheese. (What is it about good old soft buns and American cheese that makes a burger taste that much better? I’m a sucker for both!).

CaliBurger uses Russet potatoes for their fries and slices them very thin. Best way to enjoy them I found was to order a side of  Cali Style Fries: Seasoned fries smothered in melted real American cheese, grilled sweet onions and their Signature Sauce. If looking for a vegetarian option, the Cali Bello Mushroom Burger opts for a crispy Portobello mushroom instead of a beef patty. It’s good.

The restaurant has embraced technology in a big way as well. Some of the high tech upgrades include an app where you can order online before coming to the restaurant, wireless charging stations at every table and and an interactive nine-foot tall video wall.

If good burgers and boozy milkshakes is not enough to entice you – Order any combo or a Cali Double Burger the first Monday of every month and you will be helping Cali Burger support  Mealshare end hunger in our city.

Cali Burger is located at 830 Thurlow St in Vancouver and is open daily from 11 a.m. Follow them on Twitter: @CaliBurgerVan
