Illumination Summer Night Market, Richmond – All throughout June (open May 27 to September 10)
Always a favorite summer event, visit this multicultural night market (behind Home Depot on River Rd) with over 200 vendors including 60+ food booths, and a game zone. New this year is a light show with nine different themes, as well as 30 custom-made teddy bears placed around the park. Admission is $3.
Richmond Night Market – All throughout June (Open May 12 – October 9)
Known as Richmond’s original summer night market (near River Rock Casino), this “Magical Dino Park” themed market is back for its 17th year, and also has boast an impressive 200+ retail stalls, including food vendors, as well as on-stage live entertainment. Admission is $3.75 for adults, free for children under 10 and seniors.
Bard on the Beach (Vanier Park, Vancouver) – June 1 to September 23
Bard on the Beach is Western Canada’s largest professional not-for-profit Shakespeare Festival, presented in their custom-built Mainstage Theatre tent, as well as the Douglas Campbell Theatre tent in “Bard Village.” This year’s feature plays are Much Ado About Nothing, The Winter’s Tale, The Merchant of Venice, The Two Gentleman of Verona, and Shylock. Italian Day on the Drive (Commercial Drive, Vancouver) – June 11
This year’s theme for Italian Day is “amore”, or love, as in celebrating love in all aspects of life. Join in with this vibrant cultural street festival, spanning 14 blocks with over 200 street participants, including merchants, retail booths, food vendors, and restaurant patios. Runs 12:00pm-8:00pm, free admission.
Annual Rose & Floral Art Show (Coquitlam) – June 11 & 12
Visit the Dogwood Pavilion in Coquitlam to see a beautiful display of hundreds of roses in horticultural exhibits and displays, hosted by The Fraser Pacific Rose Society. The public is invited to help judge the People’s Choice Award for The Most Fragrant Rose and Favourite Floral Design. Admission is $3.50 for adults, children under 10 years of age (accompanied by an adult) get in free.

Tough Mudder (Whistler) – June 17 & June 18
This obstacle course is no walk in the park – Tough Mudder is 10 miles of mud and 20+ obstacles that will challenge your body, pushing you to work with your team to cross the finish line together.
