Fright Nights at Playland, Vancouver – October 6 to October 31

Enjoy a spooky adventure through 8 Haunted Houses, 20 rides, and the Monsters of Schlock sideshow. Fright passes available at Lower Mainland 7-Eleven stores starting October 4, or online here.

Potter’s House of Horrors, Surrey – 25 dates through Oct 31

Potter’s House of Horrors is a premier haunted attraction located in Surrey, British Columbia. For fans of horror movies, haunted houses, and the general macabre, Potter’s House of Horrors is a must-see eventĀ during the month of October.

Cranberry Festival, Fort Langley – October 7

Kick off your Thanksgiving with BC’s berries at the 22nd Fort Langley Cranberry Festival. Highlights at the event running from 10am-4pm include 70+ market vendors, live music, cooking demos, a fashion show, and more!

Vancouver Halloween Parade & Expo, Vancouver – October 13, 14, 15

 

The 4th Annual Halloween Parade & Expo is a multi-day festival of arts, cosplay, films, and comics. The parade will be at 11:00am on Sunday October 15, rain or shine, beginning at Drake & Howe in downtown Vancouver. This is a family friendly Halloween festival!

Ghost Train in Stanley Park, Vancouver – October 13 to October 31

The Ghost Train of Stanley Park returns once more to take riders through a mystical and magical world, inspired by Halloween ghosts and ghouls and other spooky tales. Activities include the Haunted Maze, arts and crafts, exhibits by the Stanley Park Ecology Society, and the pumpkin patch. Tickets available online here.

Apple Festival, UBC Botanical Garden – October 14 & October 15

This family-friendly event, organized by the Friends of the Garden, celebrates one of BC’s favourite fruits, from learning about the diversity of apples to tasting unusual varieties. Admission is $5 (cash only) for adults, free for children 12 and under.

Light the Night Walk,Ā Vancouver – October 14

Join the Leukemia & Lymphona Society of Canada’s Light the Night Walk through Lumberman’s Arch in Stanley Park at twilight (4pm) with coloured lanterns in support of over 138,000 Canadians affected by blood cancer.

Nightmare Before Christmas Market, New Westminster – October 14

Costumes are encouraged at this family-friendlyĀ Halloween fair, with activities for kids and a chance to meet Jack the Pumpkin King! The event will be open 10am-4pm.

VanFoodster Tasting Plates: Chinatown – October 18

Explore the Chinatown neighbourhood through a tasting extravaganza hosted by Vancouver Foodster at restaurants including Straight Outta Brooklyn, Dalina, Umaluma, and more, from 6-10pm. Tickets available online now.

The Mane Event Expo, Chilliwack – October 20, 21, 22

Pacific Pet Expo,Ā Surrey – October 21 & October 22

The Pacific Pet Expo, open from 10am to 4pm at the Cloverdale Agriplex, features a dog course, llama meet & greet, basset hound races, best dressed pet contests, and more. Admission is $10 each, free for children aged 13 and under.

VanDusen Glow in the Garden, Vancouver – October 24 to October 31

Follow the white rabbit of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland through a wondrous themed walk with zany lights and sounds, and illuminated pumpkin caricatures. Glow in the Garden is open from 5-9pm, tickets available online or at the door.

Halloween Howl, Burnaby – October 27

Bring your bathing suit to the CG Brown Pool for a family-friendlyĀ Halloween Howl with a haunted house, candy, and prizes from 7-9pm. General admission rates apply.

Vancouver Baby & Family Fair, Vancouver – October 27 & October 28

The Vancouver Baby & Family Fair is back for its 16th year at the Vancouver Convention Centre, open from 10am-5pm on Saturday, and 10am-4pm on Sunday. The fair will have a wide variety of family related exhibitors selling products, supplies and accessories, as well as live entertainment.

Haunted Village, Burnaby – October 27, 28, 29, and 30

Explore the Village in the dark of the night from 6-9pm, with trick-or-treating for the children, entertainment and carousel rides for all. Admission is $14 for adults, youth and seniors, and $9 for children ages 2-12.
