1. Swoop Airlines – There’s been a few attempts at budget airlines here in Vancouver. The latest is being spearheaded by Westjet – their new budget airline Swoop, is starting up this summer. The only problem is that instead of Vancouver International Airport (YVR), flights are from Abbotsford. If you don’t mind getting out to Abbotsford for your flights, Swoop is flying you to Edmonton (AB), Hamilton (ON), and Winnipeg (MB). Roundtrip during Canada Day week from Abbotsford to Hamilton, ON will set you back around $308 after taxes – if you don’t mind the travel times – there’s only one flight a day out. Disclaimer: budget airlines basically mean minimum carry on, no check baggage, and cost to print your boarding passes. You save money, but the best tip I can give you is to just pay for a check baggage when you book your flight and then check in using your cell phone to save.
2. YVR Deals – Not sure where to travel to this year? Follow YVR Deals, the best blog that highlights budget airfare deals – in particular price errors and sales for airfares. Currently they are promoting a Vancouver to Kelowna return trip $115 deal through Flight Hub for the summer months. This blog is a great tool for sourcing cheap travels.
3. Sparkling Hill Resort – Glam it up with a spa vacation!
