Where to Brunch in Vancouver: Rocky Mountain Flatbread Co.

Next up in my brunch series: I get so excited when good food meets great atmosphere. I’m even more excited when the place is also family-friendly and I can bring my little guy along for the experience.

Such place is Rocky Mountain Flatbread – they’re not only innovative in the kitchen, but their Kits location is a fantastic place to savour a relaxing brunch while the kiddos enjoy themselves in their fun play area.

Their new brunch menu includes free-range meats and organic ingredients, even vegan forward cheeses. It truly has something for everyone. Here are some of my favourites:

Shrimp Bruschetta – Ocean Wise shrimp, mango, cucumber with citrus basil aioli, red bell peppers and Chiffonade greens. Paired up with a Triple Berry Mojito and you have a fantastic start to the weekend.

I absolutely loved this one: The Bacon and Avocado Open-Faced Sandwich – this delicious entree starts with an avocado and organic bread base and it’s topped with roasted zucchini, cured tomatoes, bacon, and parmesan. It’s as good as it sounds.

Of course, when visiting Rocky Mountain Flatbread Co., you can’t leave without trying their delicious pasta and pizza. My recommendation is the Smoked Bacon and Three Cheese Penne – made with aged cheddar, organic penne, and double smoked bacon. the decadence of this pasta is a treat to the palate. The flavours go so well together and the portion is big enough that you’ll have leftovers for sure.

Looking for vegetarian options? The Beyond Avocado pizza starts with an avocado base,  then topped with vegan sausage, red peppers, zucchini, caramelized onions, hemp hearts and finished with a drizzle of balsamic reduction.

Their artisan pizzas can be made to order and are available in a gluten-free crust. The toppings are seasonal and mostly organic.  They also have vegan cheeses available so you can make any of them a vegan meal.

Rocky Mountain Flatbread Co. has two locations in Vancouver. For more info, check out their website.
