I love happy hour! It’s the best deal to have an early dinner without paying a hefty dinner bill, yet indulge with some cocktails and appetizers, and cheap fresh oysters. This week I’m sharing with you 3 of my favourite happy hour deals:
- Joe Fortes Seafood & Chophouse – One of the city’s most popular happy hour menus, make sure to get to Joe Fortes by 4pm if you want to be seated for Happy Hour – come a bit later, and might be told there’s a wait, which might not guarantee you a seat for Happy Hour! Happening every day (yes, even on the weekends), from 4pm-6pm, Joe Fortes Happy Hour offers $1.25 oysters, the freshest seafood appetizers (my favourite are the steamed clams $14.45- ask for bread with it for the sauce!), and $5 select beers and highballs, and $7.50 wine specials. No reservations, first come first serve at the bar. Great to spend a summer afternoon at their rooftop patio bar enjoying some of the city’s finest seafood and drinks!
- Cactus Club Cafe – Coal Harbour – One of my favourite locations on the water to watch the float planes and the North Shore Mountains is Cactus Club’s Coal Harbour location. They also offer a great happy hour menu! Mondays – Fridays 2pm – 5pm (take a late lunch or early day off to enjoy this deal!) and Mondays – Thursdays 10pm – closing, enjoy some cheap drinks and food while watching the views of the Vancouver harbour. Beers, cocktails, and wine range from $5-$10, with their popular Froses for $7 and Bellinis for $6. Mini Crispy Chicken Sandwich and Truffle Fries are $4, my fave Ravioli and Prawn duo are $8, and the Tuna Stack is on special for $13, or enjoy Steak Frites for $20. Each Cactus Club has their own different menu, so check before going.
- The Flying Pig – With 3 locations in Vancouver and 1 location in Victoria, The Flying Pig offers a delicious “Appy Hour” menu daily. “Appy Hour” is from 3-6pm Mondays – Fridays, and 4pm-6pm on weekends. You can try their mouth-watering, cheesy truffled mac & cheese for $6.75, PEI mussels for $6.50, and more. Menu items can be found here. They also offer beer and wine drink specials under $6.
Note: All happy hour menus, items and prices are subject to change. Please check with the restaurant directly for latest details.
