Opening on August 22 – The First Annual Chilliwack Sunflower Festival

From the organizers of the wildly popular Tulip Festival, a new event is budding up this week: The First Annual Chilliwack Sunflower Festival.

Just imagine 5 acres filled with 17 different varieties of sunflowers! Oh, the selfie opportunities are endless!

Starting on August 22nd and running until September 16th. The Sunflower festival offers a variety of activities and photos ops. Each turn down the path offers a delightful surprise, with whimsical touches and props to help you capture that perfect shot.

Best part, this festival is not only family friendly, but also furry friend friendly too! You’re encouraged to bring your 4-legged companions along for the ride – but watch out for the hops crops – they can be poisonous if digested by dogs.

The paths are well planned and although this event is bound to be wildly popular, there are plenty of ways to find solitude amongst the flowers and the chances to find a quaint bench or table for some peace and quiet are numerous.

Of course, what would a festival be without being able to take a souvenir with you: Their on-location flower shop at the Sunflower Festival is fully stocked with fresh-cut sunflowers, potted sunflowers, and tulip/daffodil bulbs available for purchase. There is also a separate u-pick field available for you to purchase your own cut sunflowers to take home!

The Sunflower Festival is located at 41310 Yale Road in Chilliwack. You can purchase tickets on location and also online here.
