Chilliwack Sunflower Festival – Chilliwack – August 22 – September 16, 2018 (or sooner!)

Explore over 5 acres of sunflowers in 17 different varieties.  Get lost among the 3 acres of giant Mammoth sunflowers reaching up to 12 feet tall.  Enjoy a leisurely stroll along one of their many paths through 1.5 acres of Suntastic Orange. Snap that perfect selfie in their 1-acre show garden displaying 15 different varieties of this gorgeous flower.

Nikkei Matsuri Summer Festival – Burnaby, September 1-2, 2018

Nikkei Matsuri Summer Festival is a unique 2-day experience that brings all of the elements of visiting a “matsuri” in Japan to our backyard here in Burnaby at Nikkei Centre. Nikkei Matsuri is one of the largest Japanese festivals in Canada and showcases an authentic Matsuri experience to Burnaby every summer at Nikkei Centre over the Labour Day Weekend, attracting over 13,000 people. Presented by the Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre, the festival has something for everyone, and aims to showcase the pride of Japanese culture through entertainment, food, martial arts demonstrations, marketplace, sake and beer garden, and games. All proceeds benefit cultural and community programs, educational outreach, and museum at Nikkei Centre. Activities that take place in the Garden are free to all attendees. A $3 admission fee will be collected at the entrance of the building for attendees wishing to partake in all indoor activities — Game Zone, Matsuri Marketplace, special workshops and demonstrations, and main stage performances. Children under the age of 5 are free all weekend. Family of 4 is $10.

Vancouver Fringe Festival – Vancouver – September 6-16, 2018

Kim’s Convenience – Vancouver – September 7 – October 6, 2018

Mr. Kim is proud of his store, Kim’s Convenience. After thirty years of selling lottery tickets, catching petty thieves, and reporting illegally parked cars, he tries desperately – and hilariously – to convince his artist daughter Janet to take over the store. Tasting Plates Vancouver: South Granville – Vancouver – September 12, 2018

Taste the city by exploring the South Granville neighborhood this month in Tasting Plates Vancouver’s evening tasting event for September. Wednesday, September 12th from 6pm until 10pm, Vancouver Foodster is hosting a self-guided foodie adventure for those interested in tasting some of the latest restaurants in South Granville. Accent Inns – Supporting the BC SPCA – New Westminster – September 15, 2018

On September 15, 2018 join Accent Inns at Moody Park in New Westminster for a surprise pet-friendly event! Bring your own pet and come see what they have in store for pet owners walking their dogs that day. Event runs 9am-3pm. Accent Inns is a pet friendly hotel, not just pet tolerant. Pets are family, and Accent Inns knows it. Annually they give a portion of pet fees collected to the BC SPCA. To date, they have donated $25,000 since their partnership began in 2011. Market Mexico – Vancouver – September 15, 2018

The Mexico Tourism Board and Arrival Agency are pleased to present Market Mexico: an outdoor market experience in the heart of downtown Vancouver. This free event will take place in the lower level of Robson Square from 11:30am until 8:00pm, with a licensed cantina operating until late.

RiverFest 2018 – New Westminster – September 22, 2018

A fun-filled day, RiverFest 2018‘s family events in New Westminster will feature the return of Juno-nominated children’s performers Bobs and Lolo with two performances in the afternoon. New this year will be another children’s entertainer – Juno-nominated Ginalina. There will also a host of regular attractions, including the Lucille Johnstone Workboat Parade, Family Fun Zone (inside the FRDC), and Artisans on the River (in association with New West Craft). Tasting Plates – Vegetarian Edition – September 26, 2018
