On Sunday, October 4, Surrey’s Empress Palace Ballroom will come alive with the colour, energy and unmistakable spirit of Mardi Gras for the 2026 High Fashion & High Tea fundraiser.
Hosted by Nira Arora, on-air host and executive producer at 94.5 Virgin Radio, this elegant afternoon promises fashion, entertainment and a little bit of magic.
Guests are invited to dress in their Mardi Gras finest and prepare for a high tea experience that goes well beyond tiny sandwiches and delicate china.
The afternoon’s festivities will include a fashion show by Armaan DGB, a magic performance by Jason Verners, live music from a featured artist, fortune tellers, a commemorative photo booth, and plenty of fabulous door prizes.
There will also be champagne ladies, a live auction and a few surprises along the way.
Fashion With a Purpose
Behind the glamour is an important community cause.
Proceeds from High Fashion & High Tea will support a second affordable housing development by Options Community Services and Habitat Housing Society.
Their first purpose-built, mixed-income development, Habitat@81st, opened in January 2024 at King George Boulevard and 81st Avenue in Surrey.
Its 100 affordable rental homes support women fleeing violence, refugees, seniors, at-risk youth and others facing housing barriers.
Habitat@81st’s first two floors offer accessible community services, extending its impact beyond residents.
The success of Habitat@81st demonstrates what is possible when organizations, businesses and community members come together with a shared purpose.
