Big Broadway productions are returning to Vancouver, and the newly announced 2026–2027 season from Broadway Across Canada is bringing a strong mix of new hits and familiar favourites to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

This upcoming season features five major productions, including three premiere engagements and two record-breaking shows, all part of Broadway Across Canada’s ongoing effort to bring large-scale theatre experiences to cities across the country.

Five Shows, No Filler

This year’s lineup leans into variety, with musicals that range from pop-driven reimaginings to classic Broadway storytelling:

  • & Juliet
    September 29 to October 4, 2026
A modern retelling of Shakespeare’s love story, built around a playlist of pop hits and a storyline that imagines Juliet choosing her own ending.
  • Beauty and the Beast
    November 24 to 29, 2026
Disney’s classic returns to the stage with updated sets and costumes, along with songs audiences already know by heart.
  • Mrs. Doubtfire
    January 19 to 24, 2027
Based on the film, this production blends comedy and heart, following a father who goes to great lengths to stay close to his children.
  • Hamilton
    May 26 to June 13, 2027
Lin-Manuel Miranda’s genre-defining musical returns, continuing its global run with its mix of hip-hop, jazz, and historical storytelling. This is one of my favourite musicals and definitely worth seeing.
  • The Bodyguard
    July 6 to 11, 2027
You remember the movie? This is a stage adaptation of the film, featuring the unforgettable Whitney Houston’s music alongside a story centred on fame, protection, and an unexpected romance.

The Mix Actually Makes Sense

The strength of this lineup is in its balance. It brings in newer productions like & Juliet alongside long-running audience favourites like Hamilton. Did I mention this is one of my favourite musicals?

According to Vice President Shana Levin, the goal is to create shared experiences through live theatre and make Broadway-level productions accessible to Vancouver audiences. Take it from someone who attends these regularly – this is the next best thing to watching a show on Broadway.

A Season Worth Planning Around

The best way to secure seats for the full season is through a subscription package. The perks are worth it.

2026–2027 subscriptions include:

  • Same seat locations for every show
  • Interest-free payment plans
  • Priority access before the general public
  • Locked-in pricing
  • Flexible exchanges and upgrades

Five-show packages start at $329, with payment plans available.

The 2026–2027 season from Broadway Across Canada brings a well-rounded mix of productions to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, offering something for both longtime theatre-goers and anyone looking to experience Broadway in Vancouver.

With a lineup that spans pop musicals, classic adaptations, and globally recognized hits, it’s one of those announcements that makes it easy to start planning your year ahead.
