Brunch at Cafe Medina

I’ve heard such good things about Cafe Medina  and their brunch menu. It’s high time I got my butt there and tried it out for myself.

I started by ordering coffee – I tried their caramel raspberry latte ($4).  It was a little too sweet for my taste, but seriously, what do you expect when you order a caramel raspberry latte? My friend had their lavender latte and if you’re looking for a more subtle taste, that is definitely the way to go.

Now I’ve been told that going to Cafe Medina and not ordering their famous waffles is like going to Paris and not going to the Eiffel tower. You can order individual waffles for $3.15 each, plus an additional $1 per topping.  Some of their toppings include: dark chocolate, milk chocolate lavender, white chocolate pistachio rosewater, fig orange marmalade, raspberry caramel and mixed berry compote. We ordered three waffles and three toppings to share. The waffles are pretty small, but oh so tasty! my favorite topping was the milk chocolate lavender. Very different and fresh.

My breakfast consisted of the L’Omlette du Matin ($12) which comes on a skillet with foccacia bread. It was by far one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in the city. Hearty and delicious with a wide sort of toppings. My friend chose the Fricasse ($16) 2 eggs, braised short ribs, roasted potatoes, onions arugula and cheddar. I had to try some of hers!  It was out of this world. The short ribs were melt-in-your-mouth delicious.

I would definitely come back here again. Awesome experience. On a side note, be prepared to wait for a while for a table. They are pretty busy for brunch on a weekend. But the wait is worth it. Guaranteed.
