Mexican food and summer just got together. So one sunny day I decided to check out Arturo’s Mexican to Go.
This food truck is a veteran of the Vancouver street food scene. Arturo’s has been located on West Cordova, a block away from Waterfront Skytrain since 2010.
Arturo’s recipe for success is a simple one: create good food using quality ingredients, and treat your customers well. The menu is full of Mexican favourites: burritos, enchiladas, tacos and the sort. The portions are generous and they make all their sauces and condiments from scratch every day.
Prices vary depending on what you order, but I found the prices to be more than reasonable. I order the Calle Trio combo (three tacos with your choice of fillings, rice, beans and salad). My three tacos were chicken, beef and pork, so there was a lot of variety as well. It was a lot of food. I found the food to be fresh and tasty. Definitely curbs any Mexican food craving.
The sauces were very good, specially the homemade guacamole.
For beverages, Arturo offers authentic Mexican soft drinks such as Jarritos and non-alcoholic sangria. The sangria was one of my favourite drinks when I lived in Mexico.
One thing that I’ve been told to try on my next visit (oh, and there will BE a next visit, for sure!) it’s the tortilla soup and the Mole Poblano. The mole is such a popular dish, it usually runs out early in the day.
