CBC Vancouver Wants to Know What’s Your Story?
Got a story to tell? CBC Vancouver wants to hear it.
What’sYour Story? is a special series starting as part of the new 6 p.m. format launch of CBC Vancouver News. Beginning on Monday, October 5th, CBC Vancouver News will run as a nightly one-hour newscast at 6 p.m. with one-minute hourly news updates throughout the day beginning at 2:59pm and enhanced mobile and digital content.
The weekly What’sYour Story? segment will feature stories affecting communities and residents across Metro Vancouver, as submitted by you. #MyLocalStory video submissions will be reviewed by the CBC Vancouver team, with successful segment ideas airing on all three CBC Vancouver News, CBC Radio One and online at http://www.cbc.ca/bc.
“Telling local stories is at the heart of what CBC Vancouver is all about” says Johnny Michel, senior managing director, CBC British Columbia and Alberta. “The What’s Your Story? segment allows for a greater voice for residents and helps us access the diversity of issues and narratives in our communities, bringing an even stronger reflection of our audience within the 6 p.m. newscast.”
You can create a pitch by sending your videos via CBC Vancouver’s social media channels using the hashtag #MyLocalStory, or via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. The What’sYour Story? portable “sound booth” will be stationed in different locations throughout the city until November 30th. For full activation schedule, please visit http://www.cbc.ca/bc.
CBC Vancouver News airs weeknights at 6 and 11 pm, Saturdays at 10:30 pm and Sundays at 11 pm on CBC TV.
