There’s no confusion here: Thai Confusion is the new hot-spot for Thai Tapas.
From the owners of “Bob Likes Thai Food” comes this new “grub gam” experience. Located in Gastown, across from Tinseltown theatres, The restaurant menu blurs the lines of culture and global influence, mixing sweet, sour, salty and spicy flavours with the delicious style of Thailand.
Some dishes worth trying include:
The Three Citrus Salad ($13) – refreshingly tart, the citrus flavours blend well with the tamarind sauce. Bits of onion and pomegranate add delightful layers of flavours.
A must order is the Bacon Wrapped Lychee and Pineapple ($9) – This sweet and salty dish comes with cucumber relish. They come three in an order and I could’ve easily eaten them all.
Thai Poutine ($10) Instead of potato, this dish uses deep fried Taro root, topped with lemongrass, Thai basil, lime leaf, in a green and curry sauce.
Pork Cheeks ($14) grilled pork cheeks served with house made chill dip. The pork is grilled with coriander seed, lemongrass and Kaffir lime.
Food this good needs good drinks to go with it. The cocktail list at Thai Confusion doesn’t disappoint. I recommend the Bourbon of Bangkok ($11) – bourbon, lime and apricot jam. It’s topped off with ginger beer to give it a nice spicy kick.
Thai Confusion is open for lunch Monday through Saturday from 11:30am to 3:00pm. Snacks and drinks are served between 3pm and 5pm and dinner tapas from 5pm to 9pm Monday to Thursday, and until 10pm Friday and Saturday nights. The restaurant is closed on Sundays.
