Saturday, November 19th at 5pm marked the Official Tree Lighting and fourth annual holiday event at Highstreet. Highlights included the arrival of Santa Clause, the lighting of a 65-foot Christmas tree, Rudolf, Frosty the Snowman, Spandy Andy the dancing elf, a 40-piece marching band, a team of festive dancers and, of course, a magical snowfall. 

Highstreet’s tree rivals that of New York City’s iconic Rockefeller Center and is one of the largest in Canada. The multimedia light display utilizes 6,000 tri-colour LED bulbs, set to holiday musical favourites during the 30-minute show.  

“We’re thrilled to make this an annual affair for the entire family, unlike any other holiday experience in the region,” said Manager, Mark Griesser. “Highstreet’s goal is be the Fraser Valley’s premiere shopping, dining, and VIP theatre destination. 

Festivities begin on November 19th with holiday shows running every Saturday at 5pm until December 17th. Holiday hours begin on Saturday, November 19th, with stores open from 10AM-9PM, Monday through Saturday, and from 10AM-7PM on Sundays.
