It’s all butterflies at the Vancouver Aquarium right now until the end of September. The beautiful Costa Rican visitors can be found at their Amazon Gallery.
Several exotic species can be found, such as the Cream-Spotted Tiger Wing Butterfly, or the Postman Butterfly. If you’re lucky (or if you’re wearing a bright shirt), They may land on you for a visit.
The butterflies arrive in Vancouver as pupae that visitors can view on display, and witness their amazing transformation. This was a lovely experience for my son, to be able to see nature like this.
At the Aquarium you can learn not only about the butterfly life cycle, but you can also learn about their conservation and the challenges tropical forests and rainforest are being faced with. That’s another lesson for Dylan to learn, as we are leaving him and his generation with the shared responsibility of being good stewards of this planet.
Entry to the Amazon Gallery is included in the price of admission to the Aquarium. you can purchase tickets online.
Proceeds from the admission support Ocean Wise’s research, education, and conservation.
