BAC is bringing the beloved Broadway musical Fiddler on the Roof to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre from January 17th until the 22nd.
The show features some of the most beloved songs in musical theatre, including “Tradition,” “Sunrise, Sunset,” “If I Were A Rich Man,” “Matchmaker, Matchmaker” and “To Life (L’Chaim!),” A heartwarming story of family, love and joy, the tale follows Tevye and his daughters as they navigate the happiness and sorrows of life in their small Jewish village.

It sounds like it will be a great production, with a talented cast and creative team. The original Broadway production of Fiddler on the Roof was a hugely successful and influential musical as the first one in history to surpass 3,000 performances. The show won the 1965 Tony Award for Best Musical in addition to eight other Tony Awards that year. It’s exciting that this revival will introduce a new generation to the show.

The musical is directed by Tony Award® winner Bartlett Sher and choreographed by acclaimed Israeli choreographer Hofesh Shechter. It stars Jonathan Hashmonay as Tevye, Maite Uzal as Golde, Andrew Hendrick as Lazar Wolf, Mary Beth Webber as Yente, Randa Meierhenry as Tzeitel, GraceAnn Kontak as Hodel, Yardén Barr as Chava, Daniel Kushner as Motel, Austin J. Gresham as Perchik, Carson Robinette as Fyedka, and Jason Thomas Sofge as Constable.
