National Wine Day is coming up on May 25. If you’re looking for something new to try, this might be a good bottle to bring to the table.

I recently learned about Rewild Wine, an Australian wine brand rooted in regenerative farming and sustainability. What caught my attention is that this isn’t just marketing language slapped onto a bottle. Their entire philosophy is built around giving back to the earth while still creating approachable, easy-drinking wines people actually want to open with dinner, bring to a barbecue, or share with friends.

Produced in Australia’s Southern Murray Darling region through Duxton Vineyards, Rewild focuses on regenerative agriculture, biodiversity, water conservation, and reducing carbon emissions throughout the winemaking process. They’ve reportedly prevented more than 750 tonnes of CO2 emissions in their winery operations and recycle up to 150 million litres of water annually.

I also appreciated that sustainability carries through to the packaging. Rewild uses lightweight glass bottles, recycled Stelvin caps, post-consumer wastepaper labels, and SFI-certified cartons. In Canada, the wines are bottled locally through Andrew Peller Ltd. to help reduce transportation emissions.

The wines themselves feel approachable and uncomplicated in the best way.

The Rewild Pinot Grigio is light, fresh, and easy to sip with notes of pear, citrus, and crisp apple. It sounds like the kind of wine I’d happily open on a sunny patio with seafood, salads, or just good conversation.

If you prefer reds, the Rewild Cabernet Sauvignon leans richer and fuller with dark fruit, blackberry, herbs, and fine tannins. It feels more suited for barbecue season or cooler evenings around a firepit.

Another nice touch is that both wines are 100% vegan-friendly, which is becoming increasingly important for many wine drinkers looking to make more conscious choices.

Wine has always been tied to celebration and connection for me. Whether it’s sharing a bottle with friends over dinner or opening something special after a long week, those moments matter. I like seeing brands thinking beyond the bottle and asking how they can leave things a little better than they found them.

Rewild Wine is currently available in select provinces across Canada, including British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and parts of Atlantic Canada.
