The Fairmont Pacific Rim Sports Patio has officially opened in Vancouver, and it offers everything a summer patio should. There is space, energy, great food, cold drinks, and a big outdoor screen for watching the games.

Set at 1038 Canada Place, the patio transforms the hotel’s front plaza into a fun, open-air gathering space. Because it is Fairmont Pacific Rim, it feels polished. However, it still feels relaxed, easy, and welcoming.

This is the kind of place where you can show up for the game, stay for the tacos, and accidentally make an afternoon of it. It is also a great spot to catch FIFA World Cup energy in Vancouver. After all, there is something special about watching sports outside with a crowd.

Plus, the Coal Harbour backdrop makes everything feel even more Vancouver. Add tacos, beer, cocktails, chocolate, bannock, and a giant screen, and honestly, what else do we need?

A Summer Sports Patio in the Heart of Vancouver

The Pac Rim Sports Patio was created as a dynamic outdoor viewing space. It features a large screen broadcasting key sporting events throughout the season. As a result, it brings together sports fans, food lovers, hotel guests, locals, and anyone wandering downtown in search of something fun.

And, most importantly, it is spacious. That matters because game day patios can get crowded fast. Suddenly, you are balancing a drink while dodging someone’s backpack. Thankfully, this one has room to breathe, gather, and enjoy the atmosphere.

So, whether you are a serious sports fan or just showing up because someone promised tacos, this patio is an easy yes.

The Pac Rim Food Truck Is Back

Now in its second year, the Pac Rim Food Truck is back on the plaza and serving fresh, made-to-order tacos. The menu features chicken tinga, beef barbacoa, and crispy cauliflower tacos, each topped with fresh, flavourful extras.

And my favourite? The fish tacos. Always the fish tacos. They are fresh, flavourful, easy to eat during the game, and just dangerous enough that one may quickly turn into two.

33 Acres Beer and Summer Drinks

The Pac Rim Food Truck has also teamed up with 33 Acres Brewing Company, which feels like a very Vancouver pairing. You can pair your tacos with the bright 33 Acres of Sunshine French Blanche or the crisp 33 Acres of Life California Common.

In addition, there are drinks from some of the city’s favourite spots, including The Keefer Bar, Botanist, MEO, and June. So, whether you want beer, cocktails, or something more elevated, the patio has options.

Together, it feels like a little Vancouver food-and-drink tour. Even better, you do not have to leave the plaza.

New This Summer: HYPE Chocolate Tu’i Hiapsek Treats Trailer

One exciting addition this summer is the HYPE Chocolate Tu’i Hiapsek Treats Trailer. It is an Indigenous women-owned concept rooted in reciprocity and connection.

In addition, the trailer is inspired by Indigenous hospitality, Pacific Northwest ingredients, and contemporary café culture. As a result, it adds something beautiful and thoughtful to the patio.

Visitors can enjoy handcrafted chocolate, sweet and savoury bannock, small-batch ice cream, specialty coffee drinks, and, of course, a Pac Rim-inspired Matcha Latte.

Overall, it adds something really special to the space. You can come for the game, grab tacos and beer, and then finish with bannock, chocolate, ice cream, or coffee. That is a pretty perfect summer stop in my books.

Why You Should Add It to Your Vancouver Summer List

The Fairmont Pacific Rim Sports Patio makes downtown Vancouver feel alive. Located right by the water, it has that unmistakable Coal Harbour energy. Plus, it gives people a fun reason to gather outside and enjoy the city.

You can start by catching a game, then try the tacos and support local beer. After that, check out the HYPE Chocolate trailer. From there, it is easy to turn the visit into a full day in downtown.

In addition, this is a great option for watching the FIFA World Cup. Not only does it offer style and space, but it also comes with much better snacks.
