Tommy Salsa Roadside Sandwich and Chilly Shop

Driving to White Rock on a nice sunny day, we stumbled upon this little gem.

I loved the relaxed and casual atmosphere and the lively decor. We were seated right away. Great first impression.

Tommy Salsa’s claim to fame is that owner Tom, makes all his dishes from scratch, and his speciality is, you guessed it, its chilly.

Which was exactly what I was in the mood for. I ordered the Spicy House Chilly (beans, beef, farmer sausage, spicy hot sauce, cheese, sour cream  and green onions). Holy cow was it ever good! and the portion was massive! It came with fresh tortilla chips and homemade salsa. The chilly was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of spice. It wasn’t over powering, but it complimented the dish perfectly.

We also ordered the Snake Bite Turkey (sliced turkey, lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese, BBQ sauce and ranch dressing). I’m not kidding when I say that there was enough turkey meat in that sandwich to make three more! massive amounts of  meat and toppings. It has to be experienced.

The only one thing that was lacking in the menu were desserts. It would’ve been nice to have something sweet to share at the end of our meal. Not that we needed it, we were stuffed after our meals. But still, the option would’ve been nice.

Another thing about this restaurant: The have live music every Friday and Saturday. Apparently, Tom not only cooks, he’s also part of the band. Gotta love this guy.
