Fans at BC Place Stadium are in for a treat this season. The iconic building has revamped their food offerings. Some highlights include local, sustainable sushi, pork belly sandwiches and a craft beer bar – The Thirsty Pigeon.
But the crown jewel of this endeavour is the addition of menu items created by celebrity chef Vikram Vij.
Chef Vij’s menu will include popular Indian dishes such as Garam Masala Beef and vegetarian options.
New items included on the BC line up include:
Vegetarian and chicken poutine.
Calamari – the new calamari is lightly battered and yet crispy. It’s served with tartar sauce, chips and lemon. As a bonus, the calamari is certified Oceanwise.
Pork Belly sandwiches – succulent pork belly served on a warm pretzel bun with beer soaked onions and roasted tomato jam.
Aside from Chef Vij’s new offerings, this is the one dish I’m the most excited about: BBQ – real BBQ chicken. Proper BBQ chicken. This the kind of BBQ you eat with your hands and lick your fingers afterwards. The chicken is served with corn on the cob and rosemary and garlic bread.
These changes in their food menu offerings is another example of how BC Place is becoming a world-class entertainent facility. Aside from being the home of the BC Lions and the Vancouver Whitecaps, this year BC Place will host the FIFA Women’s World Cup and three major concerts (Taylor Swift, AC/DC and One Direction).
