Tacomio #TacoChallengeYVR

Tacomio has only been open for a few months, yet it’s already leaving an impression on Vancouver’s culinary map. Fresh ingredients and traditional Mexican cooking techniques make this restaurant a must-try place to eat. Tacomio literally means “my taco” in Spanish, and I wouldn’t be surprised if this small taqueria does becomes one of Vancouver’s favourite taco places. Their entry for Richard Wolak’s Vancouver Taco Challenge is called Tuna Libre. This creation by Chef Fernando Llamas consists of sushi-grade Albacore tuna seared with ancho chiles and then served with chipotle cream and citrus slaw. IMG_6467 The taco is offered all day Monday thru Saturday for only $4 (for 1 taco). Another must-try with your taco is an Agua de Jamaica drink topped with orange foam. Refreshing and tasty, its guaranteed to hit the spot this summer. IMG_6463 The Vancouver Taco Challenge runs until June 14th. Vote for your favourite creations here.
