This past Friday, the Pacific Centre location of Meinhardt opened up their second location in Vancouver. With a slogan “Feed Your Curiosity”, Meinhardt offers Vancouver’s urbanites a home cooked meal on the go. Opened weekdays at 7am, the store offers the office crowd quick and healthy options to grab and go – locally roasted coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and delicious pastries (even gluten free options!). For lunch, expect freshly made gourmet sandwiches and paninis, a self serve salad bar, fresh sushi using Wild Sockeye Salmon, salad bar & deli bar, pastries galore, and a 12 feet hot bar serving up Meinhardt’s signature dishes such as Butter Chicken, Beef Vindaloo, and more.
A sneak peak event on Thursday, September 17, I had the opportunity to sample some of Meinhardt’s signature private label products such as Olive Oil, Raspberry Sorbet, Banana Mousse, Carrot Cake, Beef Vindaloo, and pasta dishes. All were excellent in quality and suits the downtown Vancouver crowd who are either grabbing a lunch to go or picking up some dishes to serve at home with their party guests or family. Meinhardt’s products are sourced from over 25 different countries around the world and carries a variety of locally sourced products as well. For example, Meinhardt’s ice creams/sorbets are made from locally sourced ingredient. Check below for photos of what to expect at Meinhardt.
No fresh juice shop near you? Meinhardt has them, along with Happy Planet smoothies, Avalon Dairy milk, and more selection in their fridges of healthy beverages.
Rows and rows of delicious individual packaged desserts including red velvet cake, chocolate mousse, and more. Great to finish off a lunch with a to-go dessert!
Fresh roast chicken is sold daily for those looking for a quick dinner option.
An unique concept – not only can you buy soap ready to be heated up and served, for those who have a VitaMix blender or can spare the time to make your own soup – Meinhardt sells prepackaged ingredients in a container where you can make your own Butternut Squash soup or Cauliflower Soup!
The deli offers a large variety of salads including a really delicious Peanut Sauce Thai Coleslaw I had the chance to try. They also offer a lot of affordable options of $7.99+ gourmet sandwiches and paninis.
In the centre of the shop, a self-serve salad bar welcomes you to select and make your own salad to go.
Other items that this store contains is freshly made sushi daily, a large variety of pastries and cakes made daily, and a fresh produce section in the centre of the shop.
The store also sells a lot of fresh cut floral bouquets to decorate your dinner table, as well as a beautiful living wall of succulent vertical displays you can purchase and take home.
For those who are looking to grab and go, whether for a meal before or during work hours, or for those looking to pick up a few things to bring home for dinner, this is a great shop that’s welcomed in the area.
Meinhardt Pacific Centre is opened Monday-Friday 7am-7pm, Saturday and Sunday 8am-6pm and is accessible on the street level at the corner of Granville Street and Dunsmuir.
