Zwilling J.A. Henckels Grand Opening
Tonight I was invited to take a sneak peak at the new Zwilling J.A. Henckels store that is opening up at the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Mall next to the Richmond Vancouver International Airport. The store officially opens Friday, October 23 to the public.
At tonight’s demo, I was welcomed onto a red carpet through the doors into a dream foodie kitchen – a store full of high end cookware, knives and utensils. Welcomed with a drink and warm hospitality with a dedicated team of Zwilling J.A. Henckels experts, guests were mingling and waiting for Chef Dana Hauser from the Fairmont Waterfront to conduct a cooking demo – seafood paella using the Staub Paella Pan, Henckels knives, and a selection of preferred ingredients that Chef Dana had procured. Guests sipped on champagne, wine, and sparkling water, tasting a few handcrafted appetizers (foie gras bites, ceviche on tortilla chip) that Chef Dana had carefully prepared.
We waited patiently as she showed us how to make a beautifully colored and flavorful seafood paella using fresh West Coast seafood and spices. The paella was then served individually in mini Staub ceramic cocottes.
We finished the evening with chocolate and red velvet cupcakes made by Chef Dana and her team at Fairmont Waterfront.
Zwilling Kitchen products include the famous Zwilling J.A. Henckels German-steel knives that chefs around the world use in their kitchens, along with cast-iron steel Made in France Staub line of pots/pans/cookware, Demeyere stainless steel cookware from Belgium, and Miyabi Japanese-steel knives which include a line of knives created in partnership with Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto. The store also carries the Zwilling Beauty Group line of products including high quality beauty tools by Tweezerman.
This store is the first of its kind in Canada, and a great addition to the Vancouver foodie community. Prices are 20% off the retail price, and occasionally will have specials for select Outlet-only items. For more information on Zwilling J.A. Henckels, visit www.zwilling.ca.
Note: Although as a guest for this event, I was not expected to write a post. However I enjoyed it so much, I had to provide my opinion on this event – a great store for the foodie gift for someone who likes to cook! @alicelovesadventure
