If you find yourself down West Granville Street shopping, you might want to make time to stop at West for lunch.
Now until the end of December, West is featuring a three-course prix fixe tasting menu between 11:30am to 2:30pm for only $45. Chef Quan Dang has created a menu featuring local west coast flavours and seasonable ingredients.
The menu consists of an appetizer, a main and a dessert. Your choices include:
Potato and leek soup with black truffle creme fraiche. This soup is the perfect starter for a cold wintry day. It’s hearty, and flavourful.
If no in the mood for soup, the second choice is a roasted apple and squash salad with castle blue cheese, cranberries and walnut dressing.
The main courses are equally decadent. The choices include:
Ricotta and herb cannelloni with Fraser Valley beet root in textures, verjus vinaigrette.
Or, if fish is what you’re craving, this pan roasted branzino, yukon gold potatoes ragout, celery, with chive butter sauce will be more to your liking.
The dessert choices for this tasting menu are:
Squash creme caramel, spiced doughnut apple compote served with caramel apple ice cream.
Or chocolate torte, strawberry poached pears pecan crumble, raspberry gelato. I’ve always enjoyed the combination of pears and chocolate. This dessert will definitely bring out the Christmas spirit in even Mr. Grinch himself!
