Your Friday Cocktail: The Chan Chan by Mike Shum
Happy Friday! Time for a drinky drink, and boy, do I have a good one for you. How about a recipe from one of Vancouver’s most influential bartenders?
Mike Shum is the cocktail ambassador for Barcadi Rum. Last year his drink the Chan Chan, won the prestigious Vancouver Canadian BACARDI Legacy Cocktail Competition.
This year, Mike is returning to the Bacardi Legacy Competition, but as a judge. The event will take place at a surprise location on February 23rd. I’ll be covering the event, with Josh Rimer of course, so make sure to follow our Snapchat feed. (Usernames: maryinvancity, joshrimer)
The Chan Chan
1.5 oz Bacardi Superior
½ oz Lime Juice
⅓ oz St. Germain
⅓ oz Martini Dry
⅓ oz Simple Syrup
3 Dashes Peychaud’s Bitters.
Shake all ingredients over ice and fine strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with an edible flower.
