Richmond World Festival 2017, Richmond – September 1 & 2

Popular Canadian rockers Tokyo Police Club and Korean hip hop star Verbal Jint will headline Richmond World Festival – Richmond’s signature celebration of music, food, and culture, as well as over 75 music and dance performances on nine stages. Event will be open at Minoru Park and Richmond Cultural Centre Plaza, from 4pm – 11pm on Friday and 11am – 11pm on Saturday, with free admission.

Nikkei Matsuri, Burnaby – September 2 & 3

Nikkei Matsuri is Burnaby’s family-friendly Japanese Festival, to be held at Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre, from 11am to 7pm. Enjoy plenty of traditional Japanese food, a game zone, star talent search, taiko and dance performances, and more!

TaiwanFest, Vancouver – September 2, 3, 4

“Kanpai, Japan!” explores Japanese influences on Taiwan’s cultural identity. Program includes workshops, plays, movies, performances, and more. TaiwanFest will be hosted at various venues in Vancouver, including The Vancouver Playhouse and QE Theatre Plaza. All locations and full schedule are available on their website here: taiwanfest.ca.

Fleetwood Festival 2017, Surrey – September 9

The 19th Annual Fleetwood Festival returns to Fleetwood Community Centre with plenty of family-friendly activities, such as face painting, puppet shows, magic shoes, bouncy castles, mini golf, and more. The event runs from 11am to 3pm and is free admission for all!

Luxury & Supercar Weekend 2017, Vancouver – September 9 & 10

Canada’s 8th annual premier luxury lifestyle event will showcase an incredible selection of automotive classics and modern supercars at VanDusen Botanical Garden. General admission for adults is $75, $50 for children under 12, and VIP tickets are $125, available here.

Market Mexico, Vancouver – September 16

Experience an immersive Mexican cultural experience, in the heart of downtown Vancouver (Robson Square), at Market Mexico! This event is open from 11:30am to midnight, and is free admission for all to enjoy staples such as tacos and tortas, as well as sweet treats like horchata and churros. The Consul General Bernice Diaz-Ceballos will also give a traditional Mexican “Grito” at 7pm in honour of Mexican Independence Day.

Burnaby 125 Weekend of Fun, Burnaby – September 22, 23, 24

Burnaby is celebrating its 125th birthday on September 22! The city will be hosting family-friendly parties throughout the community, with outdoor BBQ’s, live entertainment, face painting, and more.

Etsy: Made in Canada Market, Vnacouver – September 23 & 24

The 4 Annual Etsy: Made in Canada Market is returning to the beautiful Rocky Mountaineer Station, with over 50 local vendors, food trucks and free parking. Tickets are $4 online, and $7 at the door, with half of all ticket sales going to the Enterprising Women Making Art Program run by Atira Women’s Resource Society.

World Rivers Day Celebration, Burnaby, September 24

The Burnaby Village Museum will be hosting the World Rivers Day celebration, with various community groups, hands-on activities, displays, entertainment, and live demonstrations. Free admission for the event that runs from 11am to 4pm, and carousel rides are available for $2.65 each!

Cheese and Meat Festival 2017, Vancouver – September 30

Eat your way through international and local meats and cheeses, while pairing them with wine, beer and cider. The Cheese and Meat Festival will take place at the Yaletown Roundhouse, with seminars and 2 tasting sessions ($55 each). Tickets are available online.
